Below is a notice from the “Chairman of the Committee for Tarring and Feathering” in Boston calling the participants of the event ”traitors to their country”.

Translation:

Brethren, and Fellow Citizens!
Those bad, bad men who threw all the tea in the harbor are probably going to come back eventually.
When they do, make sure to be really mean to them.
